KATHREIN Digital Systems and PSN Elektro to implement 15 retirement home projects by 2024

New requirements. Modern multimedia infrastructure. Reliable products.

KATHREIN Digital Systems (KATHREIN DS), market leader for the digital reception and distribution of satellite, terrestrial, cable or IP signals, and PSN Elektro, specialist for the implementation of technical specialist projects with a focus on hotels, nursing homes and multi-dwelling units, will jointly implement 15 projects in retirement homes over the next three years. The background is that ever more seniors are using multimedia and therefore have an increasing demand for up-to-date multimedia infrastructure. This results in a need for modernisation on the part of the home operators.

Building on a close partnership in recent years with dozens of successfully completed projects, the two companies will lay the foundation for modern applications in almost 2,000 residential units, ranging from modern television reception, including payTV, to internet supply and the integration of mobile devices. As a rule, all objects will be exclusively fitted with Kathrein products “from the reflector to the socket”. The installation of headends or the use of optical components for signal distribution will also be carried out in cooperation with KATHREIN DS.

“We have a close affinity and partnership with Kathrein that has grown over decades. The cooperation is by no means based on tradition alone, but on positive experience and the firm confidence in the quality of the products used. This is rare and certainly not a matter of course,” says Peter Dinges, Project and Department Manager at PSN Elektro.

“Today’s retirement home residents expect a much higher standard when it comes to communication technology than they did a few years ago. The current pandemic has also contributed to an increase in the use of modern multimedia,” explains Martin Manowsky, Area Sales Manager at KATHREIN DS. “We are therefore very pleased to collaborate with our long-standing partner PSN Elektro to meet this growing demand for innovative and reliable solutions in retirement homes.”
