Very high frequency of visitors, many new contacts with original equipment manufacturers, specialist dealers and customers, together with above-average interest in digital entertainment products – that is the positive summary of the exhibition attendance of KATHREIN Digital Systems at this year’s CARAVAN SALON in Düsseldorf. At the exhibition the digital specialist and market leader for digital reception and signal splitting benefited above all from the trend towards “WiFi & camping.”
The recently introduced Kathrein CAR 150 WIFI DUO for supplying high-speed Internet to motor homes clearly touched a nerve with the public: The powerful roof antenna, consisting of two LTE reception modules, one GPS reception module and two WLAN reception modules, first establishes a connection to the Internet, then creates a secure WLAN hotspot for all travellers within the vehicle and thus establishes the basis for the whole range of modern entertainment facilities. In addition to the sheer high performance of this solution, the intuitive system configuration using the web interface we developed for the router also caught the interest of the technically-minded visitors.
Central to the antenna unit is the HDS 166 plus set with voice activation for alignment of the antenna to the best possible reception, together with the offset fully automatic CAP 500M plus SAT antenna with streaming function to a mobile phone/tablet.

So many exhibitions have been cancelled recently, so we were all the more delighted to be able to make such intensive use of our first attendance at a major event since Covid. Mobile digital radio for camping also in demand
The high level of interest in digital entertainment for camping extended also into mobile radio reception. Camping enthusiasts showed great interest in Kathrein DAB+ radios, in particular the Kathrein DAB+ 1 Mini. The advantages of this model are not only its compact size, which is of great importance when camping, but also above all the range of available designs, including white or silver painted real wood or real wood veneer, to suit all styles of interiors. The DAB+ 1 mini (MSRP 139 EUR) receives DAB+/VHF radio, has a clearly legible OLED display, an integral Bluetooth receiver for wireless audio streaming and an acoustically matched wooden case. For cordless portable use such as in a camping mobile home it has an integral lithium battery with an LED display of battery charge status and a Bluetooth connection.
