KATHREIN DS targets the growing caravaning market
According to the media information released by the Caravaning Industrie Verband e.V. (CIVD) from September 14, 2020*, holidaymakers with motor homes, caravans or tents brought the domestic economy almost 15 billion euro in turnover last year. Furthermore, the number of recreational vehicles officially registered in Germany is just under 1.3 million (700,000 caravans and 590,000 motor homes), and the trend is increasing. Reasons for this − particularly in the days of Corona − are, according to the CIVD, the increased need of holidaymakers for safety, for example, by having their own living, sleeping, cooking and sanitary facilities.
"However, to really feel at home on holiday, people also want to use the entertainment possibilities they are used to at home, comfortably and easily, just like in their own living room", explains Michael Auer, managing director at KATHREIN Digital Systems, and himself a recreational camper for many years. "For this purpose, with the CAP 500M series, we have developed one of the most convenient all-in-one solutions. All you need to do is connect the CAP 500M via a TV cable. The antenna then aligns itself fully automatically and is so light that it can be easily used on the go".
The Kathrein CAP 500M (RRP 949.- EUR) is available in stores as of now, the CAP 500M plus (RRP 1,149.- EUR) from mid-October.
