Taps, Splitters, Attenuators

Splitters or taps? This is a question that often arises when setting up a satellite reception system or a cable TV distribution system. Usually, splitters are used for SAT systems. Taps, on the other hand, are more commonly used in cable systems with a classic star distribution structure. For the splitters, we distinguish between devices with and without diode decoupling. Splitters with an integrated diode are used, for example, in antenna systems where the voltage flow direction is predefined.
